27 August
- Deadline for contributing packages for the BioC 2.1 release. We will do our best to ensure package submitted prior to 27 August make it into the release, however, contributed packages that require review iterations in order to satisfy the Package Guidelines may not make it to the release due to time constraints.
05 September
R:
- Grand feature freeze for R-2.6.0. Alpha versions available daily.
- Begin daily building of R-2.6.0 for nightly build and recommend same for all project developers.
BioC:
- First release candidate of annotation packages built and posted to devel annotation data repository
- Use R-2.6.0 to test your packages.
- Nightly build switches to the R-2-6-patches branch.
19 September
R:
- Beta release of R-2.6.0 available.
Bioc:
- Final version of annotation data packages in devel repository.
24 September
Bioc:
- Stage I Code Freeze: no API changes, no new features.
- Deadline for packages passing R CMD check without error.
01 October
Bioc:
- Deadline for packages passing R CMD check without warning.
- Stage II Code Freeze. We will be building release repositories and testing. Only "show-stopper" bugs will be fixed where show-stopper is defined by the release team (not package maintainer).
03 October
R:
- R 2.6.0 is released
Bioc:
- Build final release repositories
- Testing install scripts, GUI installation
08 October
- Release of Bioconductor 2.1
